Janka Resort - Paro

The resort’s location is suitable for those who wish to enjoy fresh air, tranquility a scenic beauty away from the hustle and bustle of city life. In spring, women engaged in plantation and men steering ploughs humming to old melodies, can be seen from resort's windows. In summer, the resort is surrounded in the rich colour of the ripening paddy. Come autumn the people are back in the fields cutting, threshing and winnowing the harvest from dawn till dusk. Janka Resort offers its guests a lifetime experience of being close to nature in peaceful and quiet surroundings. For interested guests, participation in rural farming can also be arranged.

The resort has 17 spacious double rooms, 4 king size deluxe rooms, 1 junior suit and 2 suites mini bar and a small attached kitchen with breathtaking view of rice fields, old houses and monasteries with mountains in the background from the rooms. The large windows allow sufficient light and fresh air in the room. All rooms have attached bath and toilet with running hot and cold water and are furnished with many amenities for the guests’ comfort.

The delux rooms and suits have tea/coffee making facility and safe deposit box also.

In addition to variety of local dishes, resort also serve Chinese, Indian and continental cuisine. Most of the items served (rice, vegetable and fruits) are grown in resort farm or purchased from the farmers in vicinity. The food items served from the farmers are organically grown and harvested using traditional Bhutanese methods.

Every Bhutanese home has a prayer room, richly adorned with colorful altars and lamb offerings. The old farm house next to resort and can be visited at any time of day. Guests who are interested in meditation or yoga can use this room.
